YuWelcome to Orpheus Music Society, home to the Orpheus Strings chamber orchestra. Our goal is to bring vibrant classical music to the Blue Mountains community of NSW, Australia.

Orpheus Strings in 2023

Orpheus is performing its second concert of 2023, on the 18th of June.

This concert will feature music from the academy award winning animated film production company, Studio Ghibli. The program features works by Joe Hisaishi, Yumi Arai and Hachidai Nakamura, from a number of films including Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke.

We will also be some fantastic works by Queensland composer, John Rotar. John is a young Brisbane based composer, who has written over 130 pieces an has had his works performed throughout Australia. We will be performing two pieces of his commissioned for the Queensland Camerata Chamber Orchestra, Beyond the front door and Apis Australis Suite.
